Appraising is a straightforward process in Phantasy Star Online 2, and once you know how it works, it will become a regular part of your play-style.

The appraisal shop is where you will need to go to appraise your gear. It can be found in the Shopping Area, accessed by using the elevator in the Gate Area of ARKS. Look for Chiara, who is next to the orange weapons booth, bear the Weapons Merchant.

When appraising an item, you will have two options: Appraisal and Enhanced Appraisal. For the most part, Appraisal is the option you’ll want to go with. An Enhanced Appraisal is much more expensive and is really only useful for the highest-tiered items to maximize the benefits.

When you go to confirm the appraisal of an item, you can choose what element and augment you want to add to the gear. You will get more powerful augments over time as you continue to play.

Appraising will cost you a small amount of Meseta, but it is well worth the cost for the high-powered gear you have in your possession now.

That’s the process of Appraisal; take an unknown item and find out what its value is. It’s easy and will become a regular routine for you. So get that sweet, sweet loot appraised, kit your character out, and head out on your next adventure for even better gear.
