One of the park goals in Downhill Jam in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is to collect five hard hats. You can, theoretically, collect them in a single run. Still, you’re better off completing the course, making it to the bottom, and starting over at the top again to grab the ones you miss. It also helps to go from top to bottom once to take a glance at each one’s location before attempting to grab it.

The first hard hat is right at the start, on the left side of the course. You might even miss it in because it’s right there at the front. Veer to the course’s left side, go up the wall to do a wall slide to collect it. You might need to ollie out of the wall slide to reach it.

The next hard hat is also on the course’s left side, but it’s a bit more obvious. You can see it when you go further down the hill, past the K on the upper section. All you need to do is ride up the left part of the wall to grab it. You may even catch it by naturally going down the course.

The third hard hat is on the right side, sitting on the pipe next to the large sign that reads, “Watch out for the Hole.” To capture this collectible, jump to the right before you see the hole. You can choose to grind on the pipe to grab it, or wall slide on the large sign. Missing either of these choices means you might fall, but you have the chance to try again.

The fourth hard hat is right before the exit. It’s on the left side of the bowl. If you know its location, you might shift to the right side and grab it in a jump. But you can always pass it, stop in the middle, and jump to catch it on the side.

The final hard hat is right before the end of the course. It’s on the right side, overlooking a small jump. You need to follow the ramp and jump right over it to collect it. Missing the hat might mean you make it to the end of the course, and you return to the top. It doesn’t hurt to slow down before you reach the exit.
