How to link your Square Enix account in Marvel’s Avengers

As a growing game-as-a-service model, Marvel’s Avengers is a game that requires a constant online connection to enjoy the title to its fullest ability. While playable in single-player, the game’s missions are best experienced with other people, which can only be done after linking a Square Enix account. Here is how you can link it and enjoy everything Marvel’s Avengers has to offer.
To start off linking your Square Enix account to Marvel’s Avengers, first go to sqex.me/link in a browser on your phone or computer. When there, sign in or create a new Square Enix account. If you want to, you can use your Facebook, Steam, or Final Fantasy XI or XIV online account to quickly login. Once logged in, you will need to enter a nine-digit code that you can find inside the game itself.
To find the code, start up the game and choose either Campaign or Avengers Initiative to load into a session. If you have never gotten a prompt saying you have linked your Square Enix account to your profile, a message should pop up walking you through the steps. Otherwise, you can go into settings and tab over to Legal. The bottom option will allow you to view your Square Enix membership. If you have already connected your account, this will pop up a message saying you are good to go. If not, you will be given the code to enter on the website. After entering it, the game should recognize the connection.
With your Square Enix account connected to your Marvel’s Avengers game, you will be able to play the game cooperatively with other players online. Having this also entitles you to the game’s future updates including new missions, heroes, and story expansions, which will all be free when released.
If you are having issues with your membership connection, you can go to your account page on the Square Enix website. Scroll to the bottom and you can manage your linked accounts. Here, you can see what accounts you have your Square Enix membership connected to.
If you do not see the platform you are playing the game on connected, click on the paperclip icon on the right and follow the login process presented to you.
