Spellbreak has smashed onto the battle royale scene with no guns and all magic, but one of the most exciting things about the release is that the game is crossplay and cross-progression right out of the bag.

For those who played the beta, the friends list was formerly integrated into your Playstation or Epic Games friends list. This is no longer the case.

When you open Spellbreak for the first time, you will be asked to create a new account, whether you played the beta or not. With that will come an account specific to Spellbreak that is tied to your email. You can use this email to log into the game on any platform, and this account will have its own unique ID tied to it.

It will be based on your display name on whatever platform you create the account on, and currently does not look like it can be changed. Be sure your display name has no special characters (spaces) and is something you would want on your account.

The format is similar to that of discord or Overwatch, PlayerName#1234. This ID can be used to send another player a friend request directly to their Spellbreak account.

How to add friends for crossplay

To add someone:

  • Click Friends
  • Go to Add A Friend
  • Type your friend’s Player ID
  • Hit Add

If you are receiving a request, go to Friend Requests. It does not matter which platform you receive the request on. You will see, and once accepted, have this player on your friends list on every device you play Spellbreak on.

So, whether you are playing on PC, Xbox, PS4, or even on the go with Nintendo Switch, you can invite your friends to play on your squad on any other major platform at any time. Spellbreak is not currently available for iOS or Android.
