When you log in to Destiny 2 after the weekly reset, you will be told that there is a new quest from Shin Malphur. The search for the Lumina has begun! You will need the System Positioning Device to work through the quest, and in this guide, we will show you where to find it, where it can send you, and how to find the moving lockbox that it tracks.

How To Find The System Positioning Device

Salt Mines Entrance

When you log in to the game, you will have a message from Shin Malphur telling you to go to the same place as before. By this, he means the Salt Mines in Trostland on the EDZ, where you started the Thorn quest. Load into the EDZ and head for the back of the church, the entrance to the Salt Mines Lost Sector is there.

Head into the Transmat, then activate it to be teleported to a new location. Move up the path, taking out any enemies, and you will reach a barrier. To the left, just a little up the cave wall, you will see a gap you can jump through. Head on through to find a small camp, and at the very back, you will find a lockbox. Interact with the lockbox to get an item you need and end this step in the quest.

The System Positioning Device can give you one of eight different locations to head to, and it will rotate every hour. You need to go to the place it says and find a green, worn lock box with some green lights on it. It will contain the next quest item that you need.

The places that it can send you are listed below, click the link to go to an individual guide that will show you where the lock box is at each location.

Just follow the relevant guide for the location given to you by the System Positioning Device, and you can move on to the next step of the quest. We have a full guide for the Lumina quest that you should find helpful. Best of luck, Guardian!
