Crucible is Amazon Game Studios’ free-to-play hero shooter focused on the gathering of essence and surviving the harsh environment. The game’s colorful cast of characters is the driving force for it. Each person has a distinct background with varying abilities and gameplay. Here is the complete list of heroes in Crucible, ranked from worst to best.

10. Earl

Earl is a big tanking intergalactic truckdriver whose gameplay revolves around the use of his Gatling gun named Misty, after his wife. While he is big and slow on foot, he does have an ability to launch him around the arena like a speeding rocket, but the price with that is he is more difficult to control. Earl’s passive ability revolves around increasing his rate of fire. If you manage to do this you will be sitting much better, but without it, he puts out far too little damage to be a reliable pick.

9. Sazan

Sazan does not have any traditional abilities. Instead, she has three weapons that her ability buttons lets her switch between. Something as simple as swapping weapons has a cooldown with her, so you need to pick your weapons before a battle and be sure you do not need to swap in the thick of it all. As you would imagine, leveling up makes all three weapons more powerful, but as a unique character, Sazan is pretty boring.

8. Drakahl

Drakahl may be able to put out high damage and chain his abilities together, but it comes at the cost of him being stuck to mainly melee damage. As long as an enemy playing literally any other character can keep space between the two of you, you will be at a disadvantage.

7. Ajonah

Ajonah is the lone sniper representation in Crucible, so if you are into that kind of gameplay, she is good for you. However, like in every other game, the sniper is not for everyone. Her shots are not as powerful as a traditional sniper, but her grapple hook and other abilities do give her some useful utility on the battlefield.

6. Rahi and Brother

Spider-Man Was The NPD Best Selling Game, PS4 Best Selling Console In September

Rahi and Brother are a tanky duo that revolves around their use to generate shields and reveal enemies by using the robot companion, Brother. The more damage Rahi does with his main fire, the more powerful his melee attack is. It has a short range, so if you are having problems laying down damage and building up your utilities, you are letting your team down rather easily.

5. Captain Mendoza

Crucible

Captain Mendoza is the most vanilla FPS character, so he earns the middle spot on this list. If you have ever played an FPS before, you have played a character like him. His flash grenade and supply drop abilities are good but will not necessarily turn the tides of battle for you. He is the standard military character with an assault rifle. This Soldier 76 copy-paste is a good pick for new players, but there are more exciting choices in the game.

4. Toska

Crucible Amazon Game Studios

Toska is a fun character to play, but her abilities have an agonizingly long cooldown rate. It makes sense considering how strong they can be, but waiting for your abilities leaves you as a target to enemies. She can blink through walls which is a great escape or shortcut method. She is great for close-range battles or flanking the enemy, but not extended battles.

3. Shakkiri

Shakkiri switches between melee and shooter play at the push of a button. On one side she has a pistol that has decent range and her sword that can put out fast close damage. Her shield abilities can save either you or a teammates life with proper timing. She is great for the everyman playing Crucible. Someone who does not like to be nailed down to a specific role.

2. Bugg

Bugg has arguably the best movement in the game, with his thrusters giving him a lot of freedom to go where he wants. He lays down electric plants that can put out significant damage if placed in the right spot, and he can put out a decent amount of damage on his own when aiming his arcing shots right. That being said, you are still firing at an arc, making him probably the most inaccurate hero in the game. His cropdust ability debuffs anyone chasing you down, and he can provide shields to teammates, making him one of the more useful characters aside from his main fire.

1. Summer

Pokemon Go's Psychic-type Event

Summer’s gameplay completely revolves around her wrist-mounted flamethrowers. Her abilities are all strong and are great for dealing high damage quickly. However, if you are not careful with her overheating, you quickly become a sitting duck for what feels like forever. She cannot do much to enemies beyond a short range, but she has an ability to help close the gap. If the enemy allows you to get in their vicinity, they will regret it. Manage her heat output and Summer will easily be the most rewarding hero in Crucible.
