Ghost of Tsushima looks like it’ll be full of content that will keep you busy over the summer months. Sucker Punch’s action-adventure title comes to PlayStation 4 on July 17 and, to get your money’s worth out of it, you’ll want to know how long it’ll take to complete.

Some gamers will be content to only beat the main story, while others will want to explore every inch of the island of Tsushima. Depending on what camp you fall into, you’ll want to read on to see how long it’ll take for you to beat Ghost of Tsushima.

Let’s start with the simple answer first. Ghost of Tsushima will take as long as necessary for you to beat it. As we said, if you’re only interested in completing the campaign, it’ll take less time. If you want to beat the campaign, complete every side mission, and explore the island fully, it’ll naturally take longer.

For those of you who want a more definitive answer, Ghost of Tsushima creative director Nate Fox can provide some clarity. In an interview with Brazilian outlet Voxel, Fox revealed that 100 percent completionists can expect a game in the range of 40 to 50 hours. Fox said that there “was a lot to discover” on Tsushima, so it sounds like it’s worth your time exploring.

If you will only play the main story before moving onto another title, however, there wasn’t any confirmation from Fox on a timeframe. Fox revealed that an exact number was difficult to announce as each playthrough would vary on player exploration, what difficulty gamers play on, and how quickly you adapt to Ghost of Tsushima‘s combat.

We suspect that the main campaign will take between 20 to 25 hours to finish, but we’ll have a more concrete answer for you nearer to release once we’ve gone hands-on with it.
