You can expect to fight your way across the seas and on English soil in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as your Viking character, Eivor. You can play them as a male or female, attacking and fighting the various factions who have plenty of loot to share with you. They won’t give it up easy, though. When you become bold enough, you can try your luck against the more significant locations in the game and try to complete an assault.

In Valhalla, assaults pit your Viking clan against a more massive encampment protecting a treasure trove of items. The locations you can have an assault do not include small villages or even smaller cities. If you’re attempting an assault, you can expect massive fortifications and plenty of troops waiting to protect the location from you and your Viking horde.

You can expect these battles to include more cinematic scenes, too. These encounters are wrapped around the game’s narrative, so you won’t be to do these as random encounters. There’s a lot more going on when it comes to these battles and the story missions that take place around them. An assault also centers around the research the Ubisoft team has done around the English history and Wessex era.

We don’t know how many assaults are in the game, and how many we can expect to reveal once we’ve completed Valhalla. Hopefully, we’ll have the chance to repeat these epic set-pieces after we’ve concluded the main story to take part in the large encounters that occur here.
