Cooking Food or your Kill (the animals you have killed) is a bit difficult in SCUM. In this SCUM Cooking guide, we have steps you need to follow to cook food or your kill.
So I hear you want to be a Master Chef? After spending hours stalking your target, you finally get the drop on it and it comes down with a satisfying THUD.
Suddenly a new challenge emerges. How do you turn all this freshly butchered meat into a tasty morsel?
How To Cook Food In Scum
You’ll need to start this process by acquiring enough wood to make an Improvised Fireplace. Make sure you have an Axe or Knife equipped and a rag and a Lighter or Matches in your inventory before heading into the nearest woodland area. If you find a compatible bush or tree, a Cut prompt should appear when you aim directly at it. Once the cutting process is complete there should be a few sticks on the ground around you, you’re going to need five Small Sticks. If there aren’t enough, you’re going to need another tree.
Once you have the required amount of Small Sticks, head into the Crafting tab and look for the Improvised Fireplace on the right-hand side of the screen. Once the crafting process is complete, your fireplace should be placed at your feet by default.
Next, go into your inventory and select your Lighter or Matches before holding your action key (F by default) and selecting the Light Fire prompt from the menu. From here, you’re going to need a Small Wooden Stick and three pieces of Meat for the meat skewer. If you have Vegetable Oil or any spices handy, you can add this to your recipe to give your meal an added bonus.
Go back into your Crafting tab and select the Small Skewer with Meat before smashing that Craft button at the bottom. Once your Skewer is completed, pick it up and aim at your already lit Fire, a Cook prompt should appear.
Congratulations! You are now a SCUM Master Chef. Try experimenting with all different kinds of meats and spices to find the best combination for you!
