Warzone, the battle royale mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is on the way. We know this because Infinity Ward showed off a cutscene featuring what appears to be the mode’s map in a recent update, and there have been numerous leaks about the mode over the last couple of weeks. Many people suspected the mode would launch on Feb. 25, but that update has been and gone with no site of the Warzone mode.

When Season 2 originally launched, dataminers discovered four weeks of challenges, but the last four weeks of the season were missing. This is a strong indicator that those challenges contained references to Warzone that Infinity Ward didn’t want us to see. This would seem to indicate a potential March 10 release. This lines up with previous reports about the mode getting a March release date.

Warzone has been touted to get a free release for people who don’t own the game under the title Call of Duty: Warzone, with an option to upgrade to the full game if they wish. The mode’s launch may also impact the Battle Pass, as Infinity Ward has claimed there will be no microtransactions in the game. This would imply that a third tier will be added to the existing Battle Pass to cover the battle royale mode when it launches.

Much like Call of Duty Mobile’s battle royale mode, Warzone is expected to contain vehicles that players can use to get around the map. The mode will also feature daily and weekly challenges for you to complete, with the assumption being that they reward items or extra experience to help you level up your battle pass.

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to get our hands on Call of Duty: Warzone, and we will be updating this article as Infinity Ward and Activision share more news about the mode.
