Best BAS-P Loadout in MW2 & Warzone: Attachments, Perks & Playstyle

A deadly SMG at all ranges, the BAS-P is well worth a second chance after the Warzone 2 Season 6 update upped its potential.

The BAS-P is a fantastic SMG that was added during Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Its unique blend brings close-range lethality and medium-range shock factor together in the best way. There’s really no wrong way to use it, and while it may not top the meta submachine guns in terms of point-blank fights, it’s still a force to be reckoned with.

There are some flaws with the gun out of the box though, so being careful with our attachments and tunings makes a world of difference. Keeping that in mind, here is the best loadout for the BAS-P in MW2 and Warzone 2.0.

For the Modern Warfare 2 loadout, we focused on improving the BAS-P’s already amazing damage and handling. Here the 9MM Overpressured ammunition and VLK LZR 7MW laser have pivotal roles.

Ammot types are key, as they add a new dimension to the gun. Overpressured rounds will make you feel like your shots are hitting harder, and the laser will keep you light on your feet and quick to the draw.

Of course, the Bruen Flash Grip also improves the ADS speed, so it’s an optimal handcuff for those earlier attachments. Finally, our VX Pineapple is chosen for improving the recoil control as well as the hip fire accuracy. Don’t sweat the optic, use your preferred sight and call it a day.

The BAS-P's Modern Warfare 2 perks aren't that special, but they get the job done.

The perk package includes Scavenger and Overkill as base perks, Fast Hands as the bonus perk, and Ghost as the ultimate perk. Overkill is really useful among these as you can carry an additional primary weapon with it.

For the throwables, a Frag Grenade or Semtex will do as the lethal option and Stun Grenade is always reliable as the tactical option.

This is about as standard as it gets for SMGs so you don’t need to overthink much when using it. Utilize your surroundings – surprise people in corners, slam through doors without fear, and force everyone else to react to your decisions.

The Warzone 2 version of the BAS-P really saw an uptick in popularity late in the game, and it’s bound to be a go-to SMG through the end of the MW2 era. What makes the BAS-P special is the unmatched damage range. Our Lachmann Sub and ISO 45 builds are better in extremely close fights, but they can’t hold a candle to the versatility of this one.

    • Ultimate Perk: Quick Fix
  • Lethal: Frag Grenade or Semtex
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade

The 6.5″ Bruen Drake barrel and Bruen Flash V4 Stock are the only non-negotiable pieces of this build. They add speed and range, making it ideal for what we’re trying to accomplish. Tacking on the Spiral V3.5 Flash Hider saves your accuracy around the 20-meter mark, but it’s not a necessity. You could feasibly swap that for Overpressured rounds or Hollowpoints if you’re used to those on other SMGs.

We like the 1MW Quick Fire Laser, as it does the job of the VLK LZR 7MW but makes you a little sneakier overall by removing that big red warning sign on the end of your gun when you aim down sights.

Additionally, the 50 Round Mag is about security, as more bullets are always better. It wouldn’t be egregious to drop one of these pieces for an optic either. The iron sights on this gun aren’t the best, but they’re not game-breaking either. Play to your comfort when making that decision.

The right perks are crucial in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone.

For perks, Overkill and Double Time are ideal here. This gun works beautifully as a supporting weapon to the MCPR-300, Kastov-762, and any other long-range guns in the meta. Fast Hands will maximize the value of having two Primary weapons, and Quick Fix will bail you out in rapid gunfights against other SMGs.

We’ve slapped on a Semtex for cleaning up kills and a Smoke Grenade as a ‘when in doubt’ kind of backup plan. Play with fire, put pressure on the opposition, and make them fear you when using this setup. You’ve got all the tools to succeed, and unless you get taken out by a third-party or a faraway sniper, not much can slow you down.

That’s as good as it gets for the BAS-P. If this one still isn’t hitting the spot for you, try out Season 6’s ISO 9MM and see if that can scratch the new meta itch that we’ve all been waiting for.
