Naughty Dog Plays Nice, Donates Jak and Daxter Physical Re-Release Proceeds To Charity

In spite of its name, developer Naughty Dog is taking the nice route this year, helping those in need.
The development team recently announced on Twitter that it will donate all funds from its recent partnership with Limited Run Games to various charities. The two companies teamed up earlier this year to produce physical versions of its hit Jak and Daxter re-releases for PlayStation 4.
In its accompanying blog post, the developer went into a little more detail, tying the donation to its recent 35th anniversary celebration. Evan Wells, president of Naughty Dog, explained that all proceeds would go to different groups, including K9 For Warriors, Child’s Play, Surfrider Foundation, LGBT Center of Los Angeles, AbleGamers, and DAGERS.
“We’re proud to lend our support to these groups advocating and advancing important work for accessibility, environmental conservation, veterans, the LGBTQ+ community, and children’s hospitals,” Wells said. “This wouldn’t be possible without you—our amazing fans—or our partners at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Limited Run Games, who have championed and supported this vision from the beginning.”
All four of the Jak and Daxter games, including the racing off-shoot Jak X, released physically with both standard and collector’s editions throughout the year. They ended up being huge hits with fans, selling out almost instantly. The Collector’s Editions in particular were snapped up fast, with exclusive items like collectible boxes.
