Cross-play is slowly becoming the norm in gaming, and as we get closer to the next generation of consoles, we receive daily news of more games and more developers jumping on the bandwagon of this much-requested feature.

Today, we have yet another big publisher joining the party, after Activision has paved the way of triple-A titles getting cross-platform play with the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. That big publisher is Ubisoft.

Ubisoft has launched full cross-play on Brawlhalla, meaning that not only Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC gamers can play together like in the past few months, but also that PS4 is finally getting the feature, as shared by PlayStation LifeStyle.

This is due to PlayStation finally getting out of the beta stage, where cross-play was still being tested among a minimal amount of developers and games such as Epic Games’ Fortnite and Psyonix’s Rocket League.

Now that the beta is over we’re already starting to see big publishers taking full advantage of the functionality and, while this particular game (a Super Smash Bros. like brawler, but free-to-play) is not so popular among hardcore gamers, we have faith that this is just the beginning of the process.

Other big multiplayer titles from Ubisoft include Rainbow Six Siege, which is one of the most popular titles in the competitive scene nowadays.
