Nintendo to Host Indie World Showcase on August 19

The last time Nintendo had a significant showcase stream of upcoming games, it was during E3. Now, months later, everyone is gearing up for their Gamescom 2019 announcements, and Nintendo is no exception.
Nintendo recently revealed that they are hosting a showcase stream called Indie World next week on Monday, Aug. 19. The showcase starts at 6:00 AM PT/9:00 AM ET and will run for 20 minutes. The stream highlights indie games coming to the Switch, but they have not disclosed the specific games coming to the presentation.
It’s not a stretch to assume that Hollow Knight: Silksong will make an appearance during the stream given it’s the only confirmed indie game coming to the Switch. It’s also possible that we’re going to get more news on the upcoming Cuphead DLC, The Delicious Last Course. This announcement would make sense given that the Switch port of Cuphead got announced earlier this year during a Nindies Showcase.
Of course, we should all get ready for some completely out-of-left-field surprises as well. Given the surprise announcement of Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda during the previous Nindies Showcase last March.
Since the Switch has become a favorite console for many indie developers, everything is on the table. We should prepare to hear about ports of older games to the launches of new ones to DLC, and beyond. We have to wait until Aug. 19 to learn more.
