Fans of CD Projekt Red know how much they go out of their way for their player base. Those who played their highly popular game, The Witcher 3, saw first hand how much the developers went out of their way to create insightful pieces of DLC content. This content included numerous free patches for armor. With their new game Cyberpunk 2077 set to release next year on April 16, many wonder how much similar treatment is going to transfer over to it.

The short answer is a great deal.

CD Projekt Red confirmed the information on Twitter, but the exchange got recorded through a Reddit post.

“We don’t do pre-order bonuses,” CD Projekt Red’s Twitter account posted. “Everyone gets the same, whether it is a pre-order, a release day purchase, or after 2 years.”

It does not matter when a player purchases the game, be it right now, or in several years following the game’s release. Every player is going to have access to the same amount of content and the same missions, characters, weapons, and items as every other player. No one is going to receive special treatment because they order the game first or they gave the project a certain amount of money.

Given the company is taking the same approach that they had with The Witcher 3, players can expect numerous free updates. The Witcher 3’s updates included new quests, armor sets, weapons, and alternative cosmetics for secondary characters.

Likely, CD Projekt Red won’t detail this information until the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. The company likes to have its secrets when it comes to giving back to its fan base. Given the overall response to the game, the developers are likely going to spend a great deal of time finding ways to make the game feel like a living, breathing futuristic world.

You can pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC right now. The game releases on April 16, 2020.
