The Surge 2 Available for Pre-Order and Releases On September 24

For those who thought they were going to have to wait another year for The Surge 2 release, prepare to be surprised, because you can pre-order the game right now, and the release date for the game dropped as well. You’ll have the opportunity to face off in a bloody, difficulty Dark Souls-like adventure on September 24.
All of the information came out from Microsoft’s digital store in Australia, who leaked the release date.
How does The Surge 2 differ from the first? Unlike the first game where players were fighting in close quarters environments, The Surge 2 takes place in an abandoned city, trading in the looks of the interior of a space station for a more urban environment. This change in scenery dramatically expands the area a player can move around in during any number of encounters.
Additionally, the developers are expanding on the array of options available to players as they progress through the game to give them a better variety of options to choose the type of playstyle they want. While there were no specific details shared, the developers did say that they expanded on the type of weapons, abilities, drones, and implants a player’s character can use. As a player becomes more specific, they’re going to want to focus on a particular type of fighting method, making them stand out.

“On the way to Jericho City, your plane is shot down by a mysterious storm and crash-lands in the outskirts. You wake up weeks later in a derelict detention facility inside the city. Armor-clad soldiers enforce Martial Law, robots are on a rampage, and a dark, expanding nano storm looms over the cityscape,” the description reads. “In a bid to survive, explore the sprawling, devastated city of Jericho. Fight its numerous, ferocious threats in brutal, unforgiving combat, slashing and tearing the limbs off your opponents to steal valuable equipment that will make you stronger – strong enough to face the most fearsome, imposing foes lurking in the city.”
You can pre-order The Surge 2 now from the Microsoft Store for $60. However, if you head on over to the Steam store, you’ll find The Surge 2 is listed as $49.99. This could be an error, but it is the cheaper option between the two. The Surge 2 officially releases on September 24 for PC and the Xbox One.
