Dreams is the first Sony game ever to be released in an early access form, which means we don’t know exactly how they’re going to handle its full launch.

How much time will it spend in early access? That’s something communications manager Abbie Heppe has offered a response about in a recent interview.

“We’re not quite sure,” said Heppe, before adding that “our goal is not to spend a ton of time in early access. We want to get Dreams out.”

“We want to make sure that when we launch to the wider community, we have the full breadth of tutorials, of templates, of collections of assets and things for people to use to get started, so they can have the best possible experience, especially if they’re going to be new to creation.”

As for the things developer Media Molecule plans on adding in the full release we can find a story mode, but it won’t be limited to that.

“We have a list of things we want to add and support that’s a million miles long. Online multiplayer is one of those,” she said.

“We’ll get to all of those things eventually. Maybe not necessarily during early access, but in the lifetime of Dreams, in the updates, we do when the game is in full release.”

Dreams is, sure enough, a very Media Molecule game in terms of how the personality of the studio reflects on the title.

And, of course, if you’ve loved previous games from the developer, such as LittleBigPlanet but also Tearaway, you should check it now.
