Rage 2 Sold Less Copies Than The Original At UK Launch

Rage 2 was launched early last week and was received rather well at the multiple outlets that have provided reviews for it.
It has also performed quite well at retail since we learn today, it has managed to get to the top of the UK sales chart at its debut.
The game has sold 57% copies on PS4, 38% on Xbox One and 5% on PC, although the latter has mainly sold units digitally on Steam (those are not being taken into account at the time being).
It has beaten Days Gone, now second, while Mortal Kombat 11 has lost one placement to the fourth. The other new entry last week, A Plague Tale: Innocence, has debuted 9th.

It’s interesting to note that Rage 2 has debuted at the first place but has not managed to beat the original Rage’s sales.
Fun enough, the original Rage debuted second, as it launched a week after FIFA 12 back in October 2011 so it was destined to that place.
Indeed, Rage 2 has only sold a quarter of what the game on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 did, perhaps due to the environment now being more prone to the digital than in the past.
Or simply it underperformed in regards to the first Rage, which we can’t rule out since that game was highly anticipated for being a return of id Software.
