Microsoft’s Xbox E3 Conference Set to Happen On June 9

Microsoft will hold their annual E3 conference show on Sunday, June 9, at 1:00 PM PST, they announced earlier today.
Due to how much is going on at the conference, many of those hosting the more significant shows have been forced to operate on the weekend before attendees can go through the show floor. This year, though, there’s going to be the distinct lack of big players.
With no Sony conference this year, Nintendo and Microsoft have the opportunity to go head-first at the show and display everything they have planned for the next year, or so. There’s plenty of word going around regarding Sony’s next console, the PlayStation 5, and what that’s going to look like, and how it could potentially show up as soon as next year.
However, during last year’s show Phil Spencer, the executive vice-president of Gaming at Microsoft and host of the E3 conference, hinted at the next console Microsoft is going to launch. The next one could, or could not be, cloud-based, but given Google’s recent announcement about their gaming project, Stadia, which is going to be purely cloud-based Microsoft could have changed their plans.
At the end of last week, Microsoft had some words to say regarding Google’s Stadia plans. They admire the company’s cloud-based services, and if anyone could do what they were claiming to do, it was Google. However, unlike other competitors in the industry, Google didn’t have the same contacts and links to the publishers as Sony and Microsoft do. This issue could prove a huge problem for Google moving forward and could give Microsoft a clear advantage when they make the transition to a cloud-based server.
For now, we’ll have to see what Microsoft brings to the table during their E3 conference. Given Google’s Stadia announcement, Microsoft may have modified their previous choices to make sure they hit their show out of the park and get fans excited for their upcoming work.
