There’s a new Assassin’s Creed Adder rumor in town, coming from Reddit and spread over ResetEra, which claims the next AC game could be set in Italy.

The title is said to be the last planned as part of the Antiquity trilogy, and as per the rumor it should be set in Italy.

So not the sole Ancient Rome but the entire country, just like Greece and Egypt, right after the second Origins DLC.

The main character would be Aya (Amunet), who’s apparently coherent with the game’s name (adder = snake), with Bayer returning as a support character and playable for a few mission.

For what matters story, Adder would be following Aya’s first 14 years building a Guild in the Ancient Rome and an influence over the entire country.

The brotherhood system would make a comeback similarly to Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Revelations spin-offs.

The title is said to be in the making at both Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec, the developers behind Origins and 2018’s Odyssey.

As for the release, it would not be coming before 2020, perhaps in an earlier than the usual March window.

Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, the man behind Syndicate and other AC’s leaks in the past, claims he hasn’t heard anything of this, so you have a further reason to take this as a pinch of salt.
