Red Dead Online Is Arriving Tomorrow

Red Dead Redemption 2 has provided people with a remarkable gameplay experience. From its massive and living open world to the expertly crafted cast of characters, and all the hilarious horse gifs we can handle, gamers around the world have been enjoying their time with it. Tomorrow, we get the only thing the game has been missing, the ability for players to call each other names in lobbies!

Being serious though, Red Dead Online has been announced for tomorrow! The game mode will launch in beta, and at first will only be accessible by people who own the Ultimate Edition. The day after that, the beta will open up to people who played the game on launch day. The day after that, people who played within the first three days of launch get in. Then, finally, the game will be open to all. It sounds a little complicated, so let’s bullet point this thing for clarity.

  • Nov 27 – open for owners of Ultimate Edition
  • Nov 28 – open to people who played RDR2 on launch day
  • Nov 29 – open to people who played RDR2 within three days of launch
  • Nov 30 – open to all players

It’s a pretty smart way to balance what will be a flood of people trying to get access to the mode, and also reward consumers the way that the video game industry is prone to doing. The mode will feature character creation and customization. Rockstar has also hinted at people able to “tailor your abilities to suit your playstyle.” You’ll be able to hunt or fish as a group, battle enemy gangs, engage in skirmishes, or what has been described as “pitched set-piece battles.”

Red Dead Online will become available on PS4 and Xbox One this week, for anyone who already owns Red Dead Redemption 2. At the moment we have no information on the times it will be downloadable at, or how significant any involved patch might be. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
