SCS Software has announced the title of its next DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, Beyond the Baltic Sea. The expansion will cover the whole of the three Baltic states Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, and also southern Finland and bits of Russia, including Russia’s second largest city Saint Petersburg.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 has expanded its playable regions steadily since its initial release in 2013. DLC packs have opened up Italy, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and France. And that’s not even counting some of the great community made map packs available as mods. Today, SCS Software has announced that its next expansion will cover the areas Beyond the Baltic Sea. The DLC will be titled just as such and cover a large new area in the northeastern part of Europe, building on connections established in its previous DLC packs.
Beyond the Baltic Sea
While Beyond the Baltic Sea is still a working title and no release date has been announced, SCS Software is hard at work on brand new area specific industry and environments. We’ve seen northern parts of Europe before and had a taste of eastern European culture, but this expansion will combine the two and take them to an extreme. It will also be trucker’s first opportunity to visit a Russian city, as Saint Petersburg will be included as part of a small area of Russia.
This new DLC will include the whole of the three Baltic states Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, but also southern Finland and bits of Russia including Russia’s second largest city Saint Petersburg.
The map above outlines the regions that will be covered in the DLC. I can’t wait to hop on a ferry from Sweden to Finland and make my way all the way around the Baltic Sea. We expect that more news, including further screenshots will be released over the coming weeks.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 continues to remain relevant and expand its world map. Will Spain be next? Looking at the map of what’s been covered so far, the Iberian Peninsula is just begging to be filled in.
