Nintendo Unveils Mobile-Exclusive RPG Dragalia Lost

Nintendo has a new RPG on the way, and it’s for mobile only. Dragalia Lost is set to launch in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau this summer on iOS and Android.
Dragalia Lost is an action RPG developed by Nintendo and Cygames, and it plans to bring to life “the shared vision of a new gaming experience with worldwide appeal,” an official press release from Nintendo reports.
Alongside revealing the game today, Nintendo launched a trailer showcasing Dragalia Lost’s characters and gameplay. In the game, players traverse a 3D top-down world with their party and engage in real-time combat against enemy creatures and combatants. Very little is known about the game’s story otherwise, although the game appears to feature 3D cutscenes and voice acting.
Dragalia Lost’s Japanese website is live now, along with a pre-registration page for iOS and Android users within the game’s initial launch regions. No release date has been announced for the title’s U.S. or European launch, however, Nintendo reportedly plans to launch the game in both regions “with the support of Nintendo’s group companies,” Nintendo said in its press release.
Nintendo has gradually increased its mobile gaming library in the past few years, particularly with its hit titles Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Super Mario Run. It’s unclear for now what plans Nintendo has for Dragalia Lost, however, the company clearly seems invested in the game’s mobile launch. Alongside partnering with Cygames for the RPG’s development, Nintendo also obtained five percent stock in the company.
In the meantime, expect more news as Dragalia Lost lands in select regions later this year.
