Earth Day is approaching fast, and Pokémon Go is celebrating the occasion with a special event that guarantees unlocks for taking care of the environment.

Pokémon Go Earth Day Cleanup invites fans to attend one of several local cleanup events around the world where players pick up trash while tending to parks, beaches, and other natural habitats. The event starts on Earth Day, April 22, and lasts for a full 48 hours, with cleanups taking around two hours each.

Niantic promises special prizes for Pokémon Go players even if they don’t attend a cleanup. At 1,500 players cleaning trash worldwide, Niantic will unlock 2x Stardust across the world for catching Ground, Water, and Grass Pokémon. If 3,000 players show up, then Pokémon Go will feature three times the Stardust instead.

“The in-game rewards are tiered so that the more players who take part in the cleanup events, the better the rewards for the entire Pokémon Go community,” Niantic explains on the event’s FAQ page. “The in-game rewards will be released within a 48 hour window from the start of Earth Day.”
