There’s plenty of science behind Nintendo Labo, and Bill Nye has teamed up with Nintendo to explain why that’s the case in the DIY device’s new launch trailer.

The video, which went live earlier today, shows Nye making various Toy-Cons from scratch. Nye works with Nintendo employees and learns how the Labo works while building everything from the Toy-Con Fishing Rod to the Toy-Con Piano and demonstrating how they operate. In one scene, he takes the time to explain how the Toy-Con Fishing Rod uses clicking noises and the Joy-Con’s vibration to mimic a real fishing experience. In another, he plays an RC combat minigame.

In one particularly fascinating segment, Nye walks viewers through the cause and effect relationship behind the Toy-Con Garage, which lets players create their own custom Toy-Cons through the Nintendo Switch’s user interface. Mirroring Nye’s work on Bill Nye the Science Guy, the trailer teaches viewers how input and output works and how the Nintendo Labo can reprogram the default Toy-Cons developed for Labo.

Not to mention, Nye spends plenty of time making jokes with Nintendo’s employees while playing with the Labo.

“It’s nothing but fun people because it’s science!” Nye says at the video’s start.

The Nintendo Labo is out now around the world, except for Europe, where the device launches on April 27. The Labo debuts with two different kits, the Variety Kit and the Robot Kit, which retail for for $69.99 and $79.99, respectively.
