Pokémon Go’s latest update is now available for both Android and iPhone users, and while it’s not the most intriguing set of fixes in the world, it’s still worthwhile. It’s mostly iPhone users who will end up benefiting from the new series of updates, though Android owners will see some improvements as well.

Version 1.53.2 for iOS will bring specific support and optimizations for the iPhone X’s screen resolution. Before, if you were trying to play Pokémon Go on your iPhone X, the app would still be the standard size you’d normally see on other models. As of the update, it looks a lot better on the iPhone X’s larger screen, which may not sound very important but goes a long way when trying to play the game on a newer device.

Kudos to the team for implementing this feature, at long last. On the other hand, if you’re using an older iOS device, like those running iOS 8, support has been removed for those relics, so you’ll need to upgrade or update your software if you want to keep playing.

The rest of the updates apply to everyone, and the Android equivalent is version 0.83.1. The patch notes include the following fixes:

  • Resolved a bug causing error banners to remain visible until the app is restarted.
  • Resolved a bug that prevented Trainers from powering up Pokémon to their max CP.
  • Improved load times when you open the app.
  • Various bug fixes and performance updates.
