Thanks to PEGI, a new Halo 5: Guardians box art has popped up showing the claim “Xbox One Console Exclusive”, somehow hinting at a possible release on Windows 10 PC.

As you might recall, the game has been released as an Xbox One exclusive back in the days, in a moment when Xbox titles were still exclusive to the platform and weren’t published simultaneously on PC as well.

The previous cover said “Only on Xbox One,” reporting the fact that the title was, and still is, available exclusively on Microsoft’s console. So there’s a good chance that the game is coming on PC alongside the currently existing version.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that Halo 5: Guardians is reported to be coming on Windows 10 PC. The official Xbox.com website also had a similar reference, but was quickly updated to remove it ahead of a possible announcement.

“Sorry guys that’s an error. That’s two innacurate Halo stories this morning but understandable. It’s not impossible H5 could come to PC one day but it’s not being worked on at this time. Black and white, no semantic trickery,” franchise boss Frank O’ Connor said at the time on ResetEra.

With Halo Infinite coming to PC on the same date of the Xbox One version, it’s possible Microsoft could be doing something like pushing the existing game on PC just to prepare its userbase to a series which has been lacking a PC release for ages now.
