Do Jade statues stack in Teamfight Tactics (TFT)?

Can 9 Jade turn Shi Oh Yu into a scaly Godzilla?

As Teamfight Tactics (TFT) players have been enjoying Dragonlands Set 7, there have been a lot of questions about the Jade trait. With statue buffs around the board, many players wonder if you can stack the statues next to a unit and double the buffs on them. So, to use your Jade statues to their best ability, let’s talk about how these statues really work in TFT.

How do Jade statues work?

When you have three Jade units on your board, a Jade fox statue appears. It’s a moveable unit on your board much like a target dummy. It will not move throughout the round and you can accidentally trap a champion unit behind a fox statue, so be careful with them.

If your units are touching a Jade statue, they will get certain buffs:

  • 3 Jades: one statue that adds 2% max health and 20% attack speed
  • 6 Jades: one statue that adds 5% max health and 40% attack speed
  • 9 Jades: one statue that adds 8% max health and 60% attack speed
  • 3 Jades: one statue that adds 25% max health and 100% attack speed

Do Jade statues stack?

The short answer is no, Jade statues do not stack. Your unit can only be buffed by one Jade statue. Even if you surround an Ezreal with 3 Jade statues, he will only get that original 8% max health and 60% attack speed. However, it’s still important to be very careful with positioning to make sure all of your best units get buffed by the statues. It can make a world of difference if you fail to put a statue by your carry unit or your strongest tank.

Considering TFT’s Jade statues become more powerful the more you have, the long answer is they do stack in a way. It’s not on one unit; it’s just how the trait works. So, don’t worry about bunching up statues in any one place and instead focus on how you can maximize their usability. Place 1-2 statues around the strongest units you have and have a dynamic build or go all out with a 9-12 full-Jade team to boost every champion on the board.

Pro tip: If you’re looking for TFT’s Jade powerhouses, Shi Oh Yu can become a very intimidating unit if he’s 2-star/silver with a Titan’s Resolve, Infinity Edge, and Bloodthirster. Neeko, Anivia, and Gnar are other spooky, powerful units.
