Nintendo Switch December 2017 Sales: 1.5 Million Units and Best Month for 3DS

Nintendo released their sales figures for their gaming consoles for the month of December. And the Nintendo Switch has sold 1.5 million units in December alone, making it the best-selling console of the month. Switch already was the holder of the fastest-selling console in the US and it seems it is set to be the best-selling console as well, judging by its current sales rate.
Not only the Switch, Nintendo’s another console the 3DS also had its best month since its launch back in 2014, as, in December, 3DS sold over 750,000 units. This sale made a 27% increase in the sales rate of the 3DS for the month of December and made its lifetime sales 21 million units.
Combined, the three gaming systems by Nintendo, i.e. Switch, 3DS and Classic Edition NES, sold over 2.6 million units in December only, and from the 2.6 million, 1.5 million sales are made by the Switch alone.
As the Nintendo consoles are doing so well in the market, the games for Nintendo systems are also in the top 20 games as well.
- Super Mario Odyssey: 3rd
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 4th
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 9th
- Splatoon 2: 16th
