Is Dumbledore in Hogwarts Legacy? Answered
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
Albus Dumbledore played a significant role in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts books and movies, so it is not surprising that interest in his whereabouts would pop up when looking at Hogwarts Legacy. Considered by generally everyone in the world to be the greatest wizard while alive, he accomplished many feats of greatness in his life. With this in mind, will you be able to see Dumbledore in Hogwarts Legacy?

Does Dumbledore show up in Hogwarts Legacy?
At least at launch, Albus Dumbledore does not appear in Hogwarts Legacy. While there is always potential for a future DLC to incorporate the character later in the timeline, we doubt this will happen. Hogwarts Legacy takes place in 1890. While it is very close, Dumbledore did not take his first steps in Hogwarts until 1892 in the series’ history. At the time of the game, young Albus is only nine years old, so even if he does show up in the future, he will not be the same character you recognize from other Wizarding World stories.

If Dumbledore were ever to be introduced in the Hogwarts Legacy story, we imagine that it will be in a potential future sequel. The story in this game only lasts for a single year and Dumbledore’s complicated family history does not play into it at all. Adding DLC of that to the game doesn’t make much sense. That said, a future game could definitely dive into the character’s early beginnings and how his life was while in school.
We like the fact that Hogwarts Legacy is so focused on stories outside of the characters you already know from past Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts stories. It allows the world to open up more and lets the writers delve into new stories that aren’t dedicated to those already made before.
