How to Create a Portable Refiner

Creating a Portable Refiner in No Man’s Sky is fairly straightforward, as the game pretty much forces you to craft one early on. The ingredients required for it are 1x Metal Plating and 30x Oxygen to create the refiner. Once you’ve made it, you can refine all kinds of materials.

This handy tool can purify and/or crack elements for more refined construction material and resources. This is very handy if you’re looking to make something like Pure Ferrite from Ferrite Dust, for example.
