When is the release date of Hogwarts Legacy? Answered

There's magic in the air.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to be an open-world game in the Harry Potter universe. You can create a Hogwarts student, enter one of the four houses, and attend classes to level up and master your magical talents. The adventure doesn’t stop on the school grounds, with plenty happening outside of the classrooms and multiple dangers lurking behind every corner. But when will Hogwarts Legacy allow players to inhabit the Wizarding World? Unfortunately, the release date has jumped around a bit.

Hogwarts Legacy PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S release date

Originally, Hogwarts Legacy was set to release sometime in 2021, but a couple of delays pushed that window to late 2022. However, in an August 12 tweet, Avalanche Software and WB Games informed Hogwarts fans that the game will be delayed further. Instead of the holiday season of 2022, Hogwarts Legacy’s release date is set for February 10, 2023 — that is, if you’re on PC or the newer consoles.

Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch release dates

In December 2022, WB Games and Avalanche Games announced that the old-gen version of Hogwarts Legacy will be released on April 4, 2023. As far as the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, it will come out on July 25, 2023.

What can you do in Hogwarts Legacy?

The release date may be farther away than originally anticipated, but the good news is that we have already received a good amount of info regarding Hogwarts Legacy. The development team gave us a look at the various classes you can take, how the open-world structure of the game worked, the numerous spells and potions you could use, and how you can use a broomstick to explore the game.

The footage shared during the State of Play showed off 14 minutes of in-game footage. The project is being developed by Avalanche Software, which previously worked on the Disney Infinity series and many other Disney-related video games, such as Cars, Toy Story 3, and Bolt.
