In Master Chief voice: "Get ready."

The Halo series will always be Microsoft’s most cherished child when it comes to its growing library of franchises. That being said, Halo Infinite is probably the most anticipated Halo game since Halo 3 in 2007. It looks to be taking a hard look at the series roots while also incorporating new features and elements to make it feel like a true next-gen iteration. Here is what we know about the release date of Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite will be releasing for Xbox and PC on December 8, 2021. The game will have free multiplayer and a solo campaign. Unfortunately, players that usually run through the story with a friend will need to wait a little bit before they can jump into a cooperative campaign. Don’t worry, though — co-op and Forge will be making their way to Halo Infinite post-launch via free updates. This game will be taking the approach of a game as a service, so it will consistently receive content updates to make the experience better.

Additionally, if you enjoy limited edition consoles and controllers, there is a Halo Infinite themed Elite Series 2 controller and a separate Xbox Series X console with its own exclusive controller. There is no indication how many of either item will be manufactured, so if you want them, you better pre-order as soon as possible.
