Genshin Impact Wish Upon a Lantern event guide – Duration, how to play, rewards and more

MiHoYo has introduced a brand new web event, Wish Upon a Lantern, in Genshin Impact, in which players can get free rewards for releasing lanterns and lighting up Xiao lanterns. Players can participate in this event by navigating to its official web page. Here is everything you need to know, including information regarding the duration, eligibility, rewards, and more.

Event Duration

Wish Upon a Lantern event has started and will go on till February 25, 23:59 (UTC+8). The finalization time will be from February 26 0:00 (UTC+8) to February 26 19:59 (UTC+8), and players can collect their rewards from February 26 20:00 (UTC+8) to February 26 23:59 (UTC+8).

Eligibility and how to participate

Travelers with Adventure Rank 10 or above can participate in Wish Upon a Lantern event. Access the web event and sign in with a MiHoYo account to login, and if you are using a third-party account, you will have to link it to your MiHoYo account.

If you are a PlayStation player, you will have to go to the Paimon Menu and locate the mail related to the event. Now, scan the QR code with your phone’s camera after opening the event link to participate in the event.

Travelers will have to light up five types of Xiao Lanterns to get Grand Primogem Prize. You will have to release lanterns to light up Xiao Lanterns, and releasing a lantern will award you one type of Xiao Lantern. However, it is worth noting that the Xiao Lantern type can repeat itself.

Event Rewards

Little Gift Box

Players will get a special Little Gift Box upon releasing a lantern each time that will contain different amount of Mora and other rewards.

Grand Primogem Prize

Once you have lit up all the Xiao Lanterns, you will get a card that reads Happy New Year, Traveler from another world! Along with this, you will be able to collect a random amount of Primogems from the main event page.
