Roguelikes tend to come with a higher difficulty threshold than your standard games, but when everything goes right for you, it can make you feel invincible. As time goes on and you familiarize yourself with enemies and mechanics, you will get better and faster at almost any roguelike.
30XX is no different, but it also includes levels that will randomize and change the layout in every run, meaning that you’ll never experience the same set twice. As a result, the amount of time that you can take to successfully complete a run will vary, even as you improve your skills and understanding of the game’s levels.
When it comes to a typical run of 30XX on Standard mode, in its current state, it will take about 10 to 15 minutes on each level while you have no difficulty modifiers added to your run.
This means that hitting the end of a run, currently set at six levels, can take between an hour to 90 minutes to complete. A lot can be determined by which weapons that you have, abilities that you have picked up throughout your run, and the augments to upgrade your character.
The ever-changing level structure will keep you on your toes, but the level themes tend to follow the same structure pattern, so as you complete more runs, you will become more familiar with the types of obstacles that you will face and can look to cut down on your run times.
As you might expect, even with some character upgrades, the entropy modifiers will also extend your run, so once you have begun cutting significant time from your standard runs, add modifiers to bring them up or down as you wish for extra rewards.
If you are someone that prefers to play games at your own pace without the fear of time or losing some progression, the Mega Mode allows you to play without the permadeath feature and will save any level progress.
