Rocket League fans have seen basketball and hockey-inspired modes become staples in the competitive car title, but now a football-centric game mode will debut for a limited time. On top of that, developer Psyonix Studios has announced the return of the NFL-themed car skins to celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl LV.

Teaming up with the NFL, Rocket League will launch the pigskin-focused Gridiron mode for a short time, starting on February 2. According to a new blog post on the game’s site, it is a 4v4 variant that will, of course, behold a football to chase down and score for either three or seven points. However, unlike its other sports modes, Gridiron will allow drivers to carry the ball, with the opposing team stealing it once they make contact with the carrier.

To give it a special Super Bowl theme, these football matches will be set in a replica of the championship game’s field. Rocket League’s marketplace will also bear the NFL Fan Pack once again, DLC that features 32 NFL logo car skins.

During this period, there will be a new set of challenges dedicated to Gridiron, which rewards players with a new Player Title, NFL Wheels, and 20,000 XP upon completion. Those participating will need to act quickly, as the new mode will only be present until February 8.
