Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has transcended into one of the most successful titles released by the massive Japanese gaming publisher Koei Tecmo. As stated in the Company’s financial results, a total of 3.5 million copies of the game were shipped by the end of December, making it the company’s most popular Warriors-style game ever.

Warriors games pit players, alone or with a small team, against a massive army of enemies. Koei Tecmo is the publisher of the original Warriors games, starting with Dynasty Warriors back in 1997. Since then, there have been over 30 different Warriors titles, not even including the Zelda Warriors series. The fun gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors series packaged in the world of Legend of Zelda opened an entirely new genre of action to gamers.

With the incredible success this game found, it would not be surprising if this game series continues with another installment in the not so distant future. However, there may be a Definitive Edition coming soon, as Koei Tecmo is known to remaster its own games before creating new ones.
