Minecraft has a plethora of unique animals, each of which can be used for a different task. There are a few hostile creatures that can attack the players, so you need to be quite careful about them. If you are looking for an animal to tame that can help you traverse the terrain and fight mobs, then the polar bear is quite a good choice.

The polar bear is one of the most popular animals players choose to tame in the game, and they are usually found in icy biomes. Before you go looking for polar bears to tame, you need to take note of a couple of things. First, they are found in groups of four or alone. It is advisable to go for the ones that are wandering alone since the group always includes a cub, and attacking a cub will make the parent hostile.

Secondly, a polar bear cannot be bred, and if you do end up catching a cub, there is no way to speed up its growth. Also, if you kill a polar bear, you won’t get anything at all, unlike some other animals. Feeding them isn’t that quite a problem, and raw salmon or raw fish is all you need.

To tame a polar bear in Minecraft, you need to find one and feed him some fish using the right mouse button (LT/L2/ZL on the controller). After you have fed enough fish, hearts will appear above it, which means you have successfully tamed it. Since polar bears are neutral animals, you shouldn’t be scared of them unless you attack their cubs. Once you have tamed the polar bear, it can assist you in fights, or you can use it as a mount.
