How to add friends on PlayStation 5

Nothing beats playing games with your buddies. You’ve had a long day, you want to unwind, so it’s time for a nice cool Cherry Coke and a round of Overwatch with friends. Okay, so that’s a little gross, but you can play whatever game you like.

If you have recently gotten a PlayStation 5, and are wondering how to add your friends so you can all party up, then this article will show you what to do.

First, hit the PlayStation button on your DualSense controller to open up the main menu. Go to your Avatar in the top right and click on it. A drop-down menu will appear, and you can go to Profile.

Navigate to the friends tab and you will see a list of all your friends, and the Find Friends button. Click on this button to see an assortment of options.

  • Party – this will show you everyone you are in a party with, and you can add them to your friends list by clicking on their name.
  • Friends – this will just show you your current friends list.
  • Friend Requests – this will show you any pending requests from people who have sent you one.
  • Search – this si where you can type in someone’s gamertag and send them a friend request. It will bring up a list of everyone with a similar name, and you select the one you want and hit the “Add Friend” button.

You may not always be able to send a request, as the person may have their privacy settings et up to not receive any friend requests.
